Saluting innovation at TechShop for capitalizing on an industry trend, the access economy. TechShop offers customers access to over $1 million worth of professional equipment and software by taking underused equipment and making it accessible to individuals or groups.

TechShop charges a monthly membership fee in return for access to expensive manufacturing and design equipment. Memberships range from design & manufacturing services and 3D printer services to investment opportunities, veteran opportunities and much more. This model opens up opportunities for entrepreneurs and small businesses that previously didn’t have access to such technology.

More people bring more ideas. More ideas generate innovation. As Forbes put it, “What the shops really produce are entrepreneurs and economic impact.”

We rent everything else in our lives from songs and movies to houses and cars. When we work and operate in an access economy, we live in a world where everything is accessible to use when we need it. We salute TechShop for their brilliant idea that will foster more and more innovation.
